It started with a hit on the head…
No, seriously.
Formerly a graphic designer, I left the creative arts in search of a bigger purpose which I thought to be nursing. Then eleven years later on my way to work, I fell down a flight of icy stairs and banged my head. After being diagnosed with a concussion, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t look at my phone, I couldn’t even watch TV… but somehow I could paint. So that’s what I did and I ended up coming around full circle, finding myself feeling whole for the first time in my life.
My work is a celebration of joy—a vibrant reminder of beauty, resilience, and connection. Painting large-scale compositions allows me to translate emotions and personal experiences into colour and form, creating pieces that feel as alive and intuitive as the process itself.
Working primarily with acrylics, I embrace spontaneity and allow my intuition to guide me, rarely adhering to a structured plan. Each piece evolves organically, becoming a visual diary of my inner world and a therapeutic outlet for growth and healing.
Through my art, I aim to inspire and uplift, making creativity more accessible to those who seek its transformative power. I believe art has the potential to heal, connect, and empower, and my goal is to share that energy with others—inviting them into a space of hope, positivity, and possibility.

This is called the Lindsay Joy Project because it is the byproduct of actively choosing joy every single day. And Lindsay Joy is my name, so if you also take it to mean that I try to be a mostly joyful work in progress, then you wouldn’t be wrong.
