the garden formerly known as tulips
I’ve had this canvas for 14 years.
In 2009 I tried to reproduce a painting of tulips I liked by Shirley Novak, because at the time I didn’t have anything of my own inspiration that I wanted to paint. I’ve had it ever since.
But… it was time to say goodbye and start fresh. It’s always a good practice to try to recreate certain styles, but in the end you gotta find your own personal style.
And that is a journey worth taking.
This painting is 48 inches wide by 30 inches tall. It is painted in acrylic on archival-quality natural cotton canvas, finished with a matte varnish so this piece will stand the test of time.
