Chantilly like a mofo
You’ve heard of Chantilly lace, right?
Well, this piece ended up reminding me very much of lace, and since I’m not super fancy like that, the only lace reference I could think of was Chantilly Lace. And that’s pretty much the exhaustion of all my lace knowledge. Hopefully, I did not cause any offence to lace enthusiasts at large.
Fingers crossed.
I have painted two other mandala that can be seen here and here. This one started off in a similar fashion, a centre point from which repetitive images are placed in symmetry and in a fashion that is meant to take thinking and planning away, and to just be. Afterwards, I filled it in with the lace pattern work that I discovered initially with Chantilly Like a MOFO.
This painting is 36 inches wide by 36 inches tall. It is painted in acrylic on archival-quality natural cotton canvas, finished with a matte varnish so this piece will stand the test of time.
